Police are looking for the person responsible for shooting at a Cleveland High School bus with students on board.
It happened on I-35 in Oklahoma City as the students were returning home from a field trip last night.
There were 11 students and two sponsors on that bus when the shooting happened. One of the students said she's stunned and thankful everyone is OK.
Pictures show the broken glass in the windows of this Cleveland High School bus. The person responsible shot five of the windows on the left side toward the middle of the bus.
Junior Leslie Spyres said she was sitting in the back looking at her phone when she heard the shots.
"I just hear pop, pop, pop, like a gun would sound, and I look up and just see the windows shattered," Spyres said.
Officers said someone driving past appears to have shot at the school bus with a pellet gun or a small metal BB gun.
Students reported they saw a small white car speed past right afterwards on I-35 near Frontier City. The driver of the bus immediately exited the highway and called 911.
"We are very thankful that no one was injured in such a senseless act,” Cleveland High School Superintendent Alan Baker said in a statement. "Our teacher and bus driver did a great job comforting students, calling parents, and handling a situation that they should never be faced with."
Spyres said everyone is doing okay, but they're just in disbelief.
"We all knew it was a serious situation, we were just kind of speechless," Spyres said.
If you have any information, call the Oklahoma City Police Department.
