1 Dead, Officer Injured Following Shootout In Anadarko, OSBI Says

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting that left one man dead and injured an officer in Anadarko.

One man is dead and an officer is injured after a shootout early Monday morning in Anadarko, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation said.

According to authorities, around 1 a.m. Monday Anadarko police were responding to a drug overdose near the 100 block of Nixon Drive.

OSBI said while officers were attempting to perform life-saving measures on the person that had overdosed, another person, identified as 25-year-old Sila Lambert, pulled out a gun.

Gunfire was exchanged between two Anadarko officers and Lambert, according to the OSBI. One officer was shot but sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

OSBI said Lambert was shot. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The person that overdosed was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the OSBI.
