President Joe Biden released a statement one day after a funeral was held for former U.S. Senator Tom Coburn.
Biden, when he was a Senator, served four years in the senate chamber with Coburn.
"We (Coburn) continued to work together and get to know each other when I became Vice President," Biden said in the statement. "While we may not have always agreed on the issues, I always admired his steadfast commitment to transparency and ethics in government — a hallmark throughout his career in public service. He helped remind his fellow members of Congress — and the American people — that even when we disagree politically, we can come together personally with warmth, respect, and grace."
Family, friends and fellow politicians gathered Saturday for the service held at South Tulsa Baptist Church.
