Body camera footage, and a video from an onlooker shows what happened the day an Oklahoma City police officer shot and killed Daniel Hobbs.

Oklahoma City police released a trove of new information about what led up to a fatal officer involved shooting last weekend.

Police told News 9 at the time; the officer was fighting for his life with Hobbs. Now, OCPD has released footage of the entire incident.

Police said the reason the officer moved to arrest Hobbs is because he believed Hobbs violated a restraining order.

Investigators would later find out the person who told 911 that information, was wrong.

Dispatcher: Oklahoma City 911

Neighbor/Caller: Yeah, there's a guy laying in the street at Northwest 33rd.

Dispatcher: And is this a neighbor or do you know the person?

Neighbor/Caller: He's at his grandpa's house and his grandpa has a VPO against him and I think he must be higher than a kite. He's out there staring at the clouds forever.

That call brought an Oklahoma City police officer to Daniel Hobbs' grandpa's house Saturday.

Police denied an interview Thursday, but Monday Cpt. Dan Stewart said, "dispatch says we've been there numerous times in reference to this individual."

Officers said violating a restraining order is grounds for an on-the-spot arrest, but the restraining order against Hobbs never existed.

Bodycam footage from the officer showed him calmly walking up to Hobbs as he stood outside looking up to the sky. Hobbs told the policeman he's schizophrenic.

Officer: Every three months you're supposed to take a shot?

Hobbs: Yeah.

Officer: OK. When's the last time you took a shot?

Hobbs: Three months ago.

Officer: So, sounds like you're about due for another shot then right?

The officer then asked Hobbs if he has any weapons and if he can pat him down. Hobbs said all he has on him is a wallet. The officer moves closer to frisk and handcuff Hobbs. That's when chaos ensued.

During the scuffle Hobbs got a hold of the officer's taser.

The struggle was so intense someone hit the power button on the bodycam, ending the officer's recording, but a neighbor across the street began recording, and captured the shooting.

After the shots were fired, the officer rolled off Hobbs. He quickly grabbed his radio and holstered his gun.

Another officer soon arrived to help.

Hobbs died later that night from his wounds.

The officer is on paid administrative leave during the investigation, which is standard procedure. The Oklahoma County District Attorney will now review the case to determine if the shooting was justified.
