Approximately 12,000 positions are up for grabs here in the Oklahoma City area as the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission hosts its job fair beginning Monday.
"We hear about restaurants who have to be open three days instead of seven or close early and open late because they do not have the workforce numbers they need," OESC executive director Shelley Zumwalt said.
The fair commences at the OKC Convention Center running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Tuesday.
After a challenging year in the job sector, the OESC is hoping to help those looking for a job find one easily and help companies who, as they reopen, need to hire quickly.
Those looking for a job have a variety of options for employment. Some industries represented are in the hospitality, manufacturing and trucking fields.
You can find jobs with the city of OKC, Integris Health, Allied Universal, Pratt Industries and many more.
Jobs available range from those requiring just a GED up to a college degree.
"Really, people that are looking have their pick of positions,” Zumwalt said. “I think two months from now, it's not going to be as robust and the opportunity will be narrowed.”
Claimants who attend can fulfill their weekly work search requirement.
You do not have to register ahead of time for this event but, to make the process easier, you can register as an attendee by clicking here.
