1 Dead, 1 Injured In Wagoner County After Chase Ends With Crash Near Porter

The Wagoner County Sheriff's Office says a person is dead after they tried to run from deputies, crashing their car near Porter.

According to the sheriff, deputies tried to pull a car over around 3:30 a.m. on Clarkesville Rd when the driver took off leading deputies on a chase. Deputies slowed down because they couldn’t see through the dust and dirt that was being kicked up by the car. As deputies came over a hill they found that the driver had crashed.

The driver was ejected from the car and died at the scene, according to WCSO. A female passenger survived the crash and was taken to a hospital. Deputies are trying to determine why the driver refused to stop.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol is handling the fatality crash investigation now.
