2 Dead After Head-On Collision Along Interstate 40

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating a head-on collision that killed two men Saturday morning.

The collision happened just after 3:30 a.m. along Interstate 40 near Choctaw Road.

Authorities said a Dodge pickup was traveling eastbound on Interstate 40 in the westbound lanes of traffic when it collided with a Suzuki SUV traveling westbound on I-40. The driver of the pickup -- identified as 91-year-old Montrel Shipley of Midwest City -- and the driver of the SUV -- identified as 45-year-old Paul Flemings -- were pronounced dead at the scene.

A female passenger of the SUV was transported to OU Medical Center with trunk internal injuries.
