An Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper is proving he might need to head to the rodeo arena after wrangling a calf on the side of the road.

Cell phone video shows Trooper Steve Meredith roping a calf along Highway 59 in Adair county just north of Westville earlier this month.

The man recording the video said Meredith used a lasso he had in his patrol car.

“Steve Meredith, 931, he’s got him a cow, getting dragged around, oh, there he goes. He’s going to have to change uniforms tonight,” the man can be heard saying in the video.

The calf was a little unruly and took the trooper to the ground a couple of times, but Meredith eventually got it under control.

There is no word on how the calf ended up on the highway, but it is safe to say when Meredith isn't wearing his trooper's uniform, he's wearing a cowboy hat.
