Oklahoma Department Of Public Safety Identifies 2 Men Killed In Plane Crash In Pontotoc County

The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety has identified two individuals killed in an aircraft collision early on Friday morning three miles east of Roff in Pontotoc County.

According to officials, the crash occurred around 3:35 a.m. on Friday when two men were traveling northbound from Ardmore to Ada.

Officials said 35-year-old Derrick L. Sutherland was piloting a Beech 35-33 fixed-wind aircraft with 30-year-old Dakota Abbot.

According to officials, both Sutherland and Abbot were pronounced deceased on the scene.

It is currently unclear what led to the accident and a final investigation is being conducted by the FAA and the NTSB.
