A man has been banned from Frontier City after providing water to visitors stuck on a ride.

The Scott Family posted about their experience on Facebook over the weekend. The post now has thousands of shares and comments.

William Curry Scott told News 9 he was just trying to do the right thing.

"We were heading back to the water park area and seen the rollercoaster the Wildcat was stuck up there," said Scott.

He said he asked staff about getting the riders water but was told they didn't have people trained to do that.

So, Scott decided to buy water and take it himself.

"It was just a handrail, jumped over it didn't see no signs saying personnel only and walked it up there and handed it to the personnel up there," said Scott.

"How high was that climb, did you have to climb a ladder," asked News 9's Ashley Holden.

"Yeah, right next to the track there," said Scott. "I just held on to the backpack like this and went up it."

He said eventually two security guards escorted his group out and told Scott he was banned from any Six Flags Theme Park for five years.

Monday, Frontier City sent News 9 a statement about the incident.

"The safety of our guests and team members is always our highest priority. On Saturday evening the Wildcat roller coaster performed a safety shutdown while on the lift hill. As our maintenance team was preparing to restart the ride, a guest scaled a safety fence, jumped onto the ride’s catwalk, and climbed the lift hill. The actions of this guest were unsafe and unwarranted. Regardless of his intentions, our team had the situation under control and his actions put himself in danger, prompting our team to power the ride off and safely escort riders down. Guests who choose to ignore our rules and violate safety protocols are asked to immediately leave the park."

Scott and his family had season passes that now he won't be able to use. He said he cares about visitors' safety and doesn't regret his actions.

"I'll take their punishment, and I'll never go back," said Scott.

Frontier City later told News 9's Ashley Holden that only William Scott has been banned and his family can continue to use their passes.
