Pawnee County Deputies: Hostage Situation Turns Into Murder-Suicide

Pawnee County deputies confirm that the suspect killed the victim and then died by suicide.

Deputies and state troopers responded to a hostage situation Thursday night in Pawnee County, that has now become a murder-suicide.

Pawnee County deputies confirm that the suspect killed the victim and then died by suicide.

They said a woman was being held against her will at gunpoint in a home south of Pawnee, near Highway 18 and 5000 Road. Deputies said there are no children inside the home, as they previously believed.

Deputies tell News On 6 they got a call about a domestic situation around 6:30 p.m. Thursday. They said a woman’s ex-boyfriend showed up with a gun.

They said it is still an active scene.

Law enforcement said they haven't heard any gunfire or shouting. The OHP tactical team is also on the scene.
