Redbud Classic 2021 Event Has Been Canceled

The Redbud Classic fitness event in the metro set for Sept. 11-12 has been canceled, organizers announced Saturday.

Event organizers said this year's event, which was postponed in 2020, was canceled "in support of our medical partners in the community."

Redbud officials said:

Unfortunately, due to spikes in hospitalizations amid COVID-19, our medical community is facing shortages and fatigue. We support our medical professionals and are doing our part in not overwhelming hospitals by continuing with a virtual option where medical assistance will not be needed.

Organizers said they expect the event to return in April 2022.
