Tulsa International Airport is looking to fill several food and beverage jobs with an open hiring event Thursday as travel is starting to go back to normal.
Due to the travel increase, airport officials say they are ready to open back up more restaurants in the airport and give extended hours to others but in order to do that, Director of Air Service Andrew Pierini says they have several various restaurant positions to fill. He says many of their food options have been closed for months due to the COVID-19 pandemic but that will soon change.
From 12 p.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, TIA, in partnership with Delaware North, is holding an open interview hiring event in front of the TSA entrance near the currently closed Einstein’s Bagel. There is a $1,000 hiring bonus being offered for those who get the job.
Pierini says their flights are only down 10% from this time in 2019 and it’s exciting to see the airport traffic getting back to what it was before the brunt of the pandemic, but they need more employees to sustain this level of customers.
“This is just a sign of the times now that we are getting back to a little bit more normalcy,” Pierini said. “That is what the additional staff is needed here for is Delaware North.”
The hiring events are every Thursday in the same location in front of TSA, you just need to bring a valid ID to apply and interview.
