A crackdown by the Oklahoma City Police Department on street racers accused of wreaking havoc on interstates and intersections led to the discovery of weapons connected to homicides and several arrests.
Authorities said they targeted street racers known as “swingers.”
During the operation police said 100 people were arrested, 200 citations were issued, and eight pistols were recovered, three of which are confirmed to be from homicides.
The department said the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the takedown.
