With the rise of the Delta variant, IMMY Labs thinks now is the best time to bring back its drive-thru testing sites.

The first one will be at their campus in Norman starting at 7 a.m. Friday.

These drive-thru testing pods are free for everyone and do not require insurance.

However, people will have to make an appointment, but there are many spots available.

Last year and earlier this year, IMMY Labs put a big emphasis on these testing pods.

As the vaccine became more readily available, IMMY put testing pods on pause.

Now with Delta, IMMY Labs said having quick and easy testing sites are more important than ever.

“What it comes down to, you want it be easy to get a test. That is what we are trying to provide,” said Sean Bauman, IMMY Labs president and CEO.

More pods are planned to start on Sunday and run through next Friday. Future times and locations will be announced at a later date.

Friday’s drive-thru testing pod starts at 7 a.m. in Norman and will last until noon.
