UPDATE: Hawthorne Elementary School announced that in-person learning will also be suspended Wednesday, September 29 due to staff absences. An update for the Thursday school day will be provided at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the school.
Hawthorne Elementary School students are transitioning to virtual learning Tuesday due to a lack of staffing available for the classrooms.

According to the school, students will be virtual on Tuesday and are expected to follow along with their assignments on their provided chrome books. Hawthorne is asking parents to make sure students log into classes that will be instructed over Zoom in real-time on Wednesday. Not all classes will be held over Zoom, just some, according to the school.
Breakfast and lunch pickup meals will still be offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday free of charge.
According to the school, parents will be notified about plans for classes on Wednesday, September 29, by 4 p.m. Tuesday.
