Bowfishing combines two sports - archery and fishing - using a compound bow that shoots fishing line.
It's fun for all ages and skill levels.
Bowfishing targets fish like carp, gar and drum.
You can bowfish all year, however gar go into deeper water when it starts to get cold.
According to bowfishing guide Willie Morgan, the biggest adjustment is where to aim the bow.
When you are trying to shoot a fish, Morgan said to aim well below your target to accommodate for the water refraction.
Bowfishing in shallow water is best so you can see the bottom, especially at night using bright lights that penetrate the water deeper than the sun.
