An Oklahoma City mother wants answers that will lead investigators to her loved one's killer.
Last month, Scott Bacon, 36, died in a hit-and-run crash on the northwest side of the city.
Sheryl Bacon, the victim’s mother, thinks someone saw or knows something about the accused driver. She is working with the Oklahoma City Police Department to officer $2,500 reward for someone to come forward.
On the evening of October 12, Bacon was crossing the street near the intersection of N Council Road and the Northwest Expressway when he was hit by a car.
“That particular intersection is so busy,” said Sheryl Bacon. “There are cars everywhere.”
The driver who hit Scott Bacon never stopped. It was his mother’s worst nightmare.
“I do not understand how a human being can leave another human laying in the road to die,” said Sheryl Bacon. “You have days where you just cry, and you have days where you’re OK.”
Three weeks later, investigators continue to search for the hit-and-run driver.
“They have narrowed it down to a 2007 to 2009 Honda CRV,” said Sheryl Bacon.
Bacon waits every day for word from police. She does not want her son's death to go unsolved.
“Someone out there has to know something,” said Sheryl Bacon.
Bacon said her son was homeless and suffered from schizophrenia but was a loving and giving person.
“He was full of life, always full of life never a dull moment with him,” said Sheryl Bacon.
He frequented the Second Chance Thrift Store, where he made many friends. Sheryl Bacon said the store added $500 to the cash reward to help the investigation.
“Second Chance Thrift Store is spreading the word, and they have the word out on the streets, trying to help us find the vehicle,” said Bacon.
