Supporters of the LGBTQ community gathered in Northeast Oklahoma to remember those who lost lives to acts of anti-transgender violence.

A vigil was held where organizers read the names of the 47 Transgender or Non-binary Americans who were killed this year.

"So many transgender people deal with depression, isolation, loneliness and anxiety because of the day-to-day acts of violence," said Alex Wade with Tulsa's Equality Center. "If you don't have other people in your life to support you, you're not going to make it through."
