Midwest City police are looking for a man they think may have been involved in a hit-and-run crash Sunday night.
Investigators said the possible driver pulled into the gas station while driving a white truck in the surveillance video. They said this was just minutes before the crash occurred.
“They gave a good description of the vehicle and we've been checking cameras and things like that, and they were able to find a possible suspect vehicle with a subject. We're hoping maybe that person or the public or somebody like that will know who this is because we'd like to speak to them in reference to this incident,” Midwest City Chief of Police Sid Porter said.
After leaving the gas station, a white truck got back on the road and headed westbound on Northeast 10th Street.
“The victim's vehicle was in the inside lane and the suspect's vehicle was in the outside lane. Apparently, the victim vehicle had to swerve, there was some type of obstruction in the road and for some reason they had to swerve out of the lane and when they came back shortly thereafter the suspect vehicle rammed them,” Porter said.
Officers said the car was hit so hard, it was forced off the road and flipped over. Two people were taken to a nearby hospital.
“One of them was treated and released and the other one is still in the hospital,” Porter said.
Officers are asking anyone who see this two-door white truck or this man -- seen entering the gas station before the crash -- to give them a call.
“If you're involved in any type of incident, you should always stay at the scene and first of all render aid is the number one thing. An accident where someone is injured greatly like that is a felony and if something happened to them it could progress into something even more serious,” Porter said.
Anyone with tips is asked to call the Midwest City police at 405-739-1320.
