Driving around and seeing all the lights has become a holiday tradition for many and there's a lot of great displays out there, but this year, the Oklahoma City zoo is putting their own spin on the holiday tradition with the OKC Zoo Safari Lights.
Kelly Ogle took his granddaughter Millie to check it out.
For the first time in decades, the Oklahoma City Zoo has been transformed into a winter wonderland that begins as soon as you walk in the front gate.
“We wanted to go big. We wanted to go with the wow,” said Candice Rennels, the zoo's director of public relations.
And they did! We started with the walking experience where huge sculptures and Interactive exhibits light up the children's zoo, entry plaza and dino safari.
“Swings that light up and other surprises that they’ll enjoy as well,” said Rennels. “Then on the weekends, we’ll have visits from Santa.”
A highlight for us was making our own s’mores. You can also sip or hot chocolate or mulled wine for adults.
Then it was time to hop in the car where more sculptures light up all around your car.
Online reservations are required to keep things moving. The drive-thru tour takes about 20 to 30 minutes. It’s $60 a carload and that includes the driving and walking experience.
It’s a Holiday Adventure that's sure to delight any age.
Tuesday night, Robin and Lacie try their hand at glass blowing and making their own Christmas ornaments!
News 9 has a new Holiday Adventure every night this week on News 9 at 10.
