DPS To Close Its Megacenter In OKC

People are taking advantage of the last day of the Oklahoma City megacenter. The megacenter will be open until 10 p.m. Friday before it closes permanently. 

If you do decide to stop by Friday, this is what you need to bring for a REAL ID:

1. Proof of identity like a passport or birth certificate
2. Social security number
3. Two things to prove current Oklahoma address
4. All documents must be in printed, not electronic format

If you can't make it Friday, Oklahomans can make an appointment at my.ok.gov or visit your local tag agent.

Tulsa's megacenter will remain open through January 7.

DPS said its working on expanding opportunities to continue this type of service.

"It's been a real success for us," said Sarah Stewart, DPS spokeswoman. "We don't want it to go back to the way it was with a real backlog, so we're working on ways to expand services to other locations and possibly bring in part time employees to help serve more people." 

Before the center opened, tag agencies had about a 60-day backlog of driver’s licenses processing in Oklahoma City.
