Will Rogers World Airport says they are expecting more holiday travelers this year because of the COVID-19 vaccine. Especially as it gets closer to Christmas next Saturday.

They also say the new TSA security checkpoint that opened a few months ago will help with this influx of passengers.

During this busy time of the year, the TSA will have extra screeners at the airport for the next 2 weeks through Christmas.

"It is a much larger space, so we are able to accommodate more people and get everyone through quicker," said Stacey Hamm from WRWA.

Triple A predicts around 27 million more people will travel this holiday season, compared to last year.

They say that's around 92 percent of 2019's levels.

When it comes to airlines, they predict a 184 percent increase compared to last year.

The airport wants people to remember if they are traveling these next 2 weeks, to arrive to the airport a little earlier than normal.

Face masks are still required once people are inside, with that mandate extended through March 18th.
