Cooking expert Sassy Mama shows us how to make eggnog french toast bake!
1 loaf challah or French bread, sliced
8 eggs
2 1/2 cups egg nog
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla
Streusel Topping:
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 stick butter, cold & cut into cubes
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup toasted pecans, chopped
In a 9 x 13 pan, place bread slices in the bottom of the pan and arrange so they all fit. And a large bowl whisk together the eggs, eggnog, nutmeg and vanilla. Pour the custard mixture over the bread and cover with plastic wrap and allowed to sit in the refrigerator overnight. Before baking sprinkle streusel topping over the top of the French toast. Cover with foil and Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes covered. Serve with warm syrup, fresh berries and a dollop of whipped cream.
