When Santa takes flight delivering gifts this Christmas, there is no possibility he can miss the Davis home in Edmond.

They call it The Lights on Rockwood, but this isn’t your typical Christmas light display.

“You know it’s between a half million and a million lights. It falls somewhere in that vicinity,” said homeowner Brandon Davis.

He’s always had a fascination with Christmas lights.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to have a Christmas light display that people actually wanted to come and see,” said Brandon.

So, imagine his excitement when his street traffic registered on map services.

“The street was a solid red line on Apple maps, just showing that it registered all the traffic on the street,” said Brandon.

For a display this complex, Brandon puts in the time. He starts putting up Christmas lights in September.

“There were some nights it would be 2:30 in the morning and I’m still out here working on lights,” said Brandon.

Then there’s the music set up. There are five songs, each song is programmed with the light display down to the tenth of a second

“So, like the last song I have in my show, it’s almost five minutes long, so, some are easier, some are harder, but I spent thirty plus hours on that song alone,” said Brandon.

Brandon’s wife Abigail was warned about his obsession.

“He told me from the get-go, I do Christmas lights, and I was like ok cool, you like Christmas, and then after dating and being around it, it’s very much like you really like Christmas,” said Abigail.

But for Brandon, it’s all about seeing others enjoy the display.

“It’s very inspiring to me to see the line of cars, but every other car has two or three kids, full body out of the sunroof, singing to the music, it makes all the late nights worth it,” said Brandon.

The display is located on Rookwood drive in Edmond, the lights will be on every night thru December 31. They will stay on until 11 on Christmas day.
