House Minority Leader Responds To Allegations Against Rep. Jose Cruz

An Oklahoma House leader has responded to allegations about a former colleague who resigned last week.

House Minority Leader Emily Virgin, D-Norman, responded to allegations against Rep. Jose Cruz, D-Oklahoma City, who formally submitted a resignation letter to Gov. Kevin Stitt Jan. 21.

The resignation came following allegations of inappropriate behavior from Rep. Cruz at a New Year's Eve gathering.

In a statement, Rep. Cruz admitted to the behavior prior to his formal resignation.

On Jan. 24, House Minority Leader Emily Virgin responded to the allegations in a statement.

In the statement, she said she spoke with the victim and believed her story.
