19-Year-Old Bull Rider And His Adviser Team Up For Success

Lukasey Morris is one the top bull riders in the world. 

“Well, I was number one in the world since October, till about two weeks ago then they bumped me down to about third now,” Said Morris. 

But Morris is confident he’ll get that number ranking again, not only because of his riding skills, but also because of his good friend Garrett.  

“Probably about last January, it was at the IFR finals and that’s when me and him really became buddies,” said Morris. 

Garrett has cerebral palsy and studies the bulls and then tells Morris how to ride them. 

“Like he’ll text me and he’ll be like this bull goes left so you had better get a hold with your feet and spur him or he’ll be like he goes right, it’s just pretty cool,” said Morris 

At his last win Morris gave Garrett a prized possession for winning. 

“I won the second round of the IFR finals this year and I’ve already got fifty buckles at the house and Garrett was there so i just gave him my buckle,” said Morris. 

Morris took Garrett on stage with him to receive the buckle and gave the buckle to him. A total surprise to Garrett. 

The buckle was a huge deal, but Morris went a step further and gave Garrett his IFR jacket, another prized possession among contestants. 

“I’ve got two more of those jackets at home and I don’t hardly ever wear them so i just went ahead and gave Garrett that jacket too,” said Morris. 

A true bond of friendship and appreciation. 

Morris is headed to his next rodeo in San Antonio this weekend and you can bet he’ll be texting Garrett as soon as he knows what bull he’s riding.
