Wagoner Officers Shoot Man Carrying An Axe; FBI Investigating

The FBI is investigating a shooting after they say Wagoner Police officers shot a man who was carrying a battle axe.

FBI agents haven't said exactly what led up to Wednesday’s shooting, but witnesses say the suspect refused to listen to the officer's commands. The FBI says the officers were called out to a home in Wagoner for a domestic situation Witnesses say the suspect refused to listen to officers and kept walking towards the officers with an axe in his hand. They say that’s when officers shot the suspect.

The FBI says the suspect was taken to a hospital and is being treated for his injuries. They say neither of the officers were injured.

According to the FBI, both officers are tribal citizens which is why the FBI has taken over the case and they will also be getting help from OSBI. The U.S. Attorneys' office will determine what charges, if any, will be filed. The FBI hasn’t released the names of the officers or the suspect.
