Tulsa Police: Officer Injured During Fight With Burglary Suspect

A Tulsa police officer was injured during a fight with a man who police say was trying to break into several homes on Wednesday morning.

According to police, a man was going door to door in a neighborhood near 51st and Yale, trying to break into homes.

Officers say one homeowner was awake at the time and called the police. When officers arrived on scene, they tried to arrest the man, but he attempted to get into the front of an officer's patrol car.

Police say the officer and the suspect got into a fight and the officer injured his hand.

According to TPD, the officer's hand may be broken and he was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police say the suspect did not make it inside any cars or homes and was taken to jail where he will be booked on several charges.
