We caught up with a special visitor in Tulsa today. A World War II-era Boeing B-29 “Superfortress” made a stop at Tulsa International Airport Thursday afternoon. The B-29 was built in 1944 and was sitting in a California desert when a team of volunteers rescued it and took it back to its home in Wichita.

The team spent about 15 years restoring it and returning it to flight status. Since 2016, it’s been flying to airshows and other events all over the country.

This weekend it’s scheduled to go to Tallahassee where it will be on display and selling rides too. It was on the ground here in Tulsa for just a few minutes before taking off again and heading to Florida.
