Crosses now mark the spot where three kids' lives were tragically cut short after their home went up in flames.
The State Fire Marshall is now investigating what caused the deadly blaze
Neighbors noticed smoke coming from the house and called 911 at about noon on Sunday.
Inside there were three children, all under the age of six.
It's not clear whether they were home alone, however, neighbors say they tried to break down the doors and windows with the children's mother.
Several fire departments were dispatched to the home.
“When they arrived on scene, the fire conditions were untenable. The result was three fatalities,” according to Oklahoma Assistant State Fire Marshal Jim Fullingim.
Two kids under the age of six and an infant were killed.
The fire spread to the attached single-family home and carport.
Neighbors tell News 9 they used to watch the kids play.
“They were just normal little girls, you know? Out playing with their toys, as normal kids do, they had a couple dogs they played with,” said Troy Rout, a neighbor.
Now, the community grieves.
“This is a big tragedy for everybody…it resonates through the whole state probably, as well as this community,” Rout said.
The State Fire Marshal, Crescent City Police, The Logan County District Attorney, and OSBI are all involved in the investigation.
