After a two-year break, the popular “Touch-A-Truck” event is back this weekend in Edmond.

The event, sponsored by Edmond Electric, is one of the city’s most popular annual events.

Dozens of vehicles will be there from fire trucks to police cars to solid waste disposal trucks.

There will be something for everyone.

The event takes place Saturday on the University of Central Oklahoma campus at parking lot No. 6. Festivities will run from 9 a.m. until noon.

The event is free to attend, but organizers asking for a $2 donation. Proceeds will go to The Hope Center of Edmond.

The event puts a face to those who provide vital services to the community. It shows residents the technology and skills that help those vehicles respond to emergency situations.

"It's a really great chance for kids and families to get to see these vehicles up close and also to meet the people who are out there every day providing services,” Bill Begley with the City of Edmond said.

If you have a child who is sensitive to loud noises, there will be a quiet hour from 9 to 10 a.m. No loud music or horns will be allowed during that hour.

There will also be food trucks and vendors on site.
