This was a surprise inspection done back in April, which found several problems with the Oklahoma County Detention Center, from bug infestations to a severe staff shortage.
In fact, the report showed just eight detention officers were responsible for more than 1,500 inmates over an eight-hour period.
Infestations included live bugs and even mice in living areas.
There were also reports of inmates being told they had to buy their own soap to clean their rooms because products were being hoarded by other inmates or not being offered by jail staff.
Multiple safety hazards were also listed in the report, including razors being found in both cells and shower areas.
More than two months ago, Oklahoma County Commissioners approved a bond asking taxpayers for a new jail totaling more than $260 million.
There's a special election at the end of the month to ask whether voters will sign off on $260 million worth of bonds, which would help fund a new jail.
That election is scheduled for June 28th.
