Noble Banks grew up extremely close to his dad, and that might be because his dad actually delivered him at birth on the side of the highway.

“My dad realizes that they’re not going to make it to the hospital and so he pulls over and said we’re delivering the baby on the side of the road, can you call the ambulance,” said Noble Banks

That was the beginning of a real father-son bond.

“My dad was a graphics designer for thirty years and worked from home my whole childhood, which was great because I got to go home from school and see him,” said Banks.

With his dad’s artistic background, it was no surprise when Banks took an interest in movies.

“I think I was like five or six when I walked up to dad and said I want to be a movie director,” said Banks.

As he began pursuing his writing and directing skills his dad was his constant encouragement.

“He helped me kind of get the story and hone it in a little better, and encourage me to write it,” said Banks.

“My dad began having health challenges, but I continued writing at my dad’s bedside,” said Banks.

“In 2020, when the world fell apart, he was also in the hospital then and unfortunately passed before the movie ever got made or finished or anything,” said Banks.

Noble finished the movie and it will premiere this weekend at the deadCenter Film Festival.

“The movie is called “Paralyzed,” it is a suspense thriller about a man in the hospital who is recovering after a crash and he thinks he witnesses a murder,” said Banks.

This is quite an accomplishment for the young film maker.

“I remember the first ever Dead Center University, nine years ago this year, and now I guess I’m the first ever returning student from the university to have a movie in the festival,” said Banks.

Making everyone in the program proud.

“Going through the Dead Center University program and inspiring kids between the grades of nine through twelve we hope will encourage them to pursue more,” said Cathy Story with Metro Tech.

What does Banks think his dad would think about all of this?

“He’d be right there, front row, watching the movie and I’m sure he’d cry of course when he saw my name on the thing and his name is on the credits,” said Banks.
