The race for Sen. Jim Inhofe's seat is heating up.
The top five candidates are invited to debate Thursday night on News 9.
Thursday's debate will be held at 7 p.m. and will be streamed live on News 9 and the News 9 app.
Former State House Speaker T.W. Shannon, U.S. Congressman Markwayne Mullin, former EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt, Inhofe's former Chief of Staff Luke Holland and State Sen. Nathan Dahm have all been invited.
The candidates will be going through a range of topics, however according to News 9 political analyst Scott Mitchell, it’s the economy and gun control that people want to talk about right now.
"Inflation, that's what the messaging is, that's what the data says people are concerned about. Number two is guns, gun safety, schools and children," said Mitchell. "These are the things that have dominated in the last two weeks."
The Primary Election for the end of this month is on June 28th.
If a candidate does not get more than 50% of the vote, the top two will advance to a runoff.
That runoff would be set for August 23rd.
