OSBI: Noodling Confrontation Leads To Homicide In Pontotoc County

According to the OSBI, Larry Sanders and Jimmy Knighten were noodling on the river on July 9. Knighten and Sanders had a confrontation and Sanders ended up striking and then strangling Knighten.

PONTOTOC COUNTY, Oklahoma -

The OSBI has arrested one man in connection with a homicide on the South Canadian River.

According to the OSBI, Larry Sanders and Jimmy Knighten were noodling on the river on July 9. Knighten and Sanders had a confrontation and Sanders ended up striking and then strangling Knighten.

Knighten's body was found on July 10 during a search by Pontotoc and Seminole County deputies.

The medical examiner was able to determine the cause of death.

Sanders in being held at the Pontotoc County Jail on a complaint of murder in the first degree.
