Residents of Wynnewood say they are outraged after an alleged incident at an area store back in June.

One Wynnewood resident told News 9 that what she found in a dumpster still haunts her and so does the responding officer’s actions.

The woman, who wants to keep her identity hidden, said I happened on June 29. She said she went into a bathroom at the store and found a scene that looked like it was out of a horror movie.

"You could smell blood. If you're a female, you know that smell and it had that smell to it. You can just see the blood smeared all over the toilet," the woman said.

She said a woman had gone into the bathroom about 30 minutes before her.

“[The woman with me] went to pull the trash and just the weight of it we were like oh now. Something's not right."

The two found multiple bloody tissues in the can.

"The last one I opened there was a clot and what appeared to be an umbilical cord," said the woman. “That's when I couldn't dig anymore because I was scared of what else I would see."

The woman then called police. She said they didn’t even attempt to look at the alleged fetus.

"[He] said it's out back by the dumpster, just throw it away in the trash. He didn't look at it," the woman said.

“The ladies happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and they were literally left holding the bag,” said Shannon Kile with Save Wynnewood.

Now residents are demanding justice.

"There was a baby born here through whatever means, we really don't know, whatever age, we really don't know, their ultimate resting place is a landfill," said Kile. He added, "it might have been a simple 'yep that's an unviable fetus' and it needs to go through this process or 'we need to call paramedics right now', or anything in between. That's the sad part is we really don't know."

The unknown and the dissatisfaction in the investigation is fueling the unhappiness residents feel. Some even going as far as to call for the mayor and officer to step down at Monday night’s city council meeting.
