Oklahoma City police arrested a man in connection to an accident that killed an Edmond police officer.
Jay Fite was arrested on complaints of first-degree manslaughter and second-degree murder.
According to OCPD, Fite was driving a utility truck that crashed into a group of vehicles that were stopped at a red light near Comfort Drive.
An Edmond police officer was hit while he was on duty and on his motorcycle, according to police.
The officer was transported to OU Medical Center where he died due to injuries sustained in the crash, police said.
The suspect was taken to St. Anthony Hospital to be checked out, and investigators obtained and served a warrant to draw a sample of the suspect's blood, according to OCPD.
The identity of the victim hasn’t been released.
