Water Arrives At Lake Hefner, Should Raise Water Level In The Next Few Days

With the drought in Oklahoma reaching a boiling point, water from Canton Lake was released to help fill the metro’s main source of drinking water.

With the drought in Oklahoma reaching a boiling point, water from Canton Lake was released to help fill the metro’s main source of drinking water. 

Water levels at Lake Hefner will rise over the next few days as water released from Canton Lake makes its way down the North Canadian River.

Water started arriving at the lake around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. 

The water release should raise Lake Hefner about 2 feet.
