Local Church Network Offers Prayer, Support After Crash Kills Teens In Sand Springs

Pastors in Sand Springs showed up at Friday’s football game in Sand Springs to support the students who are grieving the loss of their friends.

They said the community has risen above tragedy before and they are here to help them through it now.

Michael Wilson and Jordan Stowe are leaders of the Local Church Network and are no strangers to lending a hand to those in need.

“I think as a believer in Jesus and a follower in Jesus, that is our number one calling and goal is to be close to the broken hearted. The scriptures tell us God is close to the broken hearted and we want to be like him,” Wilson said.

Both are pastors and said times of crisis are when the community needs to rely on each other the most.

“The hope is that your reminder, from a tragedy, we’ve seen some beautiful things happen,” Stowe said.

Wilson said members of the Local Church Network are immediately ready to help when tragedy strikes. That’s what happened when he received the call about the crash that killed the Sand Springs students Thursday.

“We don’t have a lot of information, but just be ready to serve. Clear your schedules. Be ready for whatever you have to do with your schedules. No tasks is more important than what is happening right now in our community,” Wilson said.

Friday night, they attended the tail gate before the game at Charles Page High School to pray and offer support for everyone through any means possible.

“It’s a breath of fresh air to be a part of a community that is not too fast-paced to care about our people, to care about our neighbors, to love our neighbors, and to be there for the in their time of hurting,” Wilson said.

Wilson and Stowe said their doors are always open along with any church in Sand Springs.
