A Broken Arrow toddler loves trash pickup day in his neighborhood. Every Friday morning just after sunrise, it's time for trash to be picked up from the Fulton home.
“Do you see the trash truck?” asked Jorie Fulton. “Ya,” her son, Dax, replied.
Two-year-old Dax has a front row seat in the driveway. “Can you wave? Say good morning,” Jorie said.
Last Friday, the trash collectors surprised Dax with his very own trash truck. His friends Brett Cole, Jon Haring and D.J. Deboes with Green Country Trash Service even signed it.
And this Friday, Dax showed the collectors he's up for the job. He hopped out of his seat, and with help from his mom, Jorie, was determined to toss out his own trash.
“Throw it in -- woo hoo!” Jorie said as her son threw a tissue in the truck.
Dax's love for the trash truck goes beyond this special Friday tradition. His mom said he thinks about the trash every day. "Every day,” Jorie said.
And his little toy truck goes everywhere with him.
"He takes it to brush his teeth. He plays hide and seek,” Jorie said. “I'm sure he'll play with it for many years."
Dax has a recycling truck too, and his new friend Jon, made time to play Friday.
"Kinda gives you a little pep in your step and makes it all worth it,” Cole said.
But the time came to get the neighbors' trash too. Dax went right back to his chair, to soak in his favorite Friday views.
