Department Of The Interior Holds 1st Secretary's Tribal Advisory Committee Meeting

The Department of the Interior (DOI) held its first 'Secretary's Tribal Advisory Committee' meeting.

The committee met to ensure Tribal leaders have direct and consistent contact with DOI officials.

During the two-day meeting, STAC members spoke with officials from the White House, Bureau of Indian Affairs and Office of Land and Minerals Management among others.

The group is made up of a primary and alternate member from each Tribal Region. The Primary member for Eastern Oklahoma is Choctaw Nation Chief Gary Batton. The Alternate Member is Muscogee Nation Second Chief Del Beaver.
