People going to events at the BOK Center can now order their concessions on the go. It’s all thanks to a partnership between the BOK and DoorDash.
Visitors will be able to order on their phones through DoorDash during the event and they’ll get a notification to pick it up when it’s ready.
All of the concession stands at the BOK Center now have DoorDash pick-up lanes for people attending concerts and sporting events. People will spend less time in line if they can order food and drinks through DoorDash.
"We look at and communicate with our fans, people want to spend more time watching the action, enjoying the concert, enjoying the game, this allows people to peruse the menu at their own pace, place their order, and then pick it up when that order is ready," said Bryan Crowe, the Vice President and General Manager of the BOK Center.
The restaurants on the app will change once you go inside the BOK Center. All of the concession stands will pop up automatically.
"When you step foot inside the BOK Center, your app will recognize that you're here and you'll see the look and feel of the app change, and it's specific to ordering here in the BOK Center," said Crowe.
Crowe said the BOK decided to go with DoorDash, since many people already have an account set up and credit cards tied to it. So fans don’t have to worry about learning to use another app.
"It's a recognizable name, and brand, it allows our guests to use an app they probably already have on their phone, lets them keep just one account," said Crowe.
There aren’t any extra fees added to the DoorDash order. The amount you pay on the app would be the same you would pay if you stood in line to order.
"We hope that people will really take advantage of it, and skip the line and order online,” Crowe said. “Here's no increased cost or fees for using the mobile platform."
Crowe hopes by offering different concession options, people will be able to find exactly what they want.
"I think we're all used to mobile devices to make our life better, and this allows our guests to be able to look at the menu and not feel rushed," said Crowe.
People can use this feature starting Friday, Oct. 21 at the Tulsa Oilers home opener game.
