Mother Road Market is celebrating four years in Tulsa with a community-wide birthday bash.
For the last four years, Mother Road Market has been a staple for the Tulsa community by bringing in food and fun.
Mother Road Market was created to help new food merchants. It's the only nonprofit food hall in Oklahoma giving food entrepreneurs a kitchen to start serving customers.
Hundreds of people came out to Mother Road Market to help celebrate four years. Bobby Golbaba comes to Mother Road Market often. He says it's a great addition to the Tulsa community and a cool way for potential restaurant owners to get their start.
"Since its inception. I live not far from here and I come at least once a month. I love the different variety and how they keep bringing in new, different restaurants," Golbaba said.
More than 20 different merchants sell local food at the market and during the birthday bash. Faith Walker, the owner and chef of Curds and Whey Gourmet, has been located inside Mother Road Market for over a year. She describes her food as comfort food.
"We have fresh salads, gourmet wraps, and loaded fries, so anything you want whenever you're feeling good or feeling bad, we have it all for you. Everything is fresh, we make all of our sauces in-house," Walker said.
Walker says she got her start at the Kitchen 66 program at Mother Road Market which helps support Tulsa entrepreneurs by providing things like a kitchen space, business training programs, and sales and distribution channels. She said her favorite part about being an entrepreneur is seeing her food come alive and interacting with customers.
"I just think that Mother Road Market is such a vibrant community space. We've been here for four years and were looking forward now to the next four years, so we are really looking forward to celebrating with Tulsa, " Fussell said.
