Three vehicles total were involved. The driver of the third vehicle, Yeol Kim, waited with his signal on to turn left off of Southwest 134th Street when the first pickup slammed into the back of his car, before that truck and the teens' truck collided.
His dashcam caught sight of both impacts.
"I signaled to turn left and I just waited about 10 or 20 seconds. When I tried to turn left, all of a sudden, I think the Titan hit my rear end," Yeol said.
In Yeol's dashcam you can see the first impact with his car and the Nissan Titan, before you hear it.
The Titan's front tire went completely sideways, and sparks shot out from under the car and on the curb. Then, in the top right corner of Yeol's dashcam the second crash between the two trucks can be seen. The teens were in the white Ford F-150.
"It kind of happened just so quick. It was horrible. It was horrible," Yeol said.
Yeol parked his car and ran over to the trucks.
"I just. I just went there and then people inside crying out, asking for help. I was so sad and terrified. I didn't know what to do. I felt numb at the time," he explained.
Oklahoma City Police said the three vehicles involved had seven people total.
The white pickup sat five. All were Westmoore High School students who were headed back to school.
Police believe speed played a factor in the crash.
'I hope the rest of the people can recover as soon as possible," Yeol said.
The school district released this statement:
This evening, the Oklahoma City Police Department confirmed to Moore Public Schools that the vehicle accident at SW 134th and S. Penn Ave. involved multiple Westmoore High School students and resulted in one student fatality. Multiple students are currently hospitalized.
Our entire MPS family now grieves this terrible loss. The MPS Mental Health Team will be on-site and available to assist students and employees at WHS throughout the final day of school tomorrow. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families affected by this incident and severe loss.
Police haven't released the names of any of the other people involved but said their families have been notified.
