Sassy Mama: Sausage Pinwheels

Sassy Mama is in the kitchen cooking up something perfect for any New Year's party! Sassy is showing the News 9 team how to make sausage pinwheels in Monday's segment.

Ingredients:

1. 1 container refrigerated crescent roll dough
2. ½ pound breakfast sausage, browned
3. Cream cheese, softened
4. 1 cup grated cheese (I use Swiss/gruyere)

Directions:

1. Roll out the crescent roll into a 9x13 rectangle.
2. Make sure to seal creases to make one sheet of dough.
3. Spread the cream cheese all over the dough leaving a 1-inch border around the edge.
4. Add the sausage over the top of the cream cheese.
5. Gently press into the cream cheese.
6. Add 1 cup of your favorite grated cheese and gently press.
7. Roll up so that your log will be 13 inches in length.
8. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and freeze for 30 minutes to firm up for easy slicing.
9. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
10. Bake for 20 minutes and enjoy warm.
