A warm up could soon be on the way after freezing temperatures swept across the state.
Here are the details from News 9 Meteorologist Lacey Swope:
OKLAHOMA CITY - It is a very cold start to the day, with temperatures in the teens and wind chills in the single digits.
On Tuesday afternoon, look for sunny skies and highs in the 40s and 50s. South winds will ramp up and this increases the fire danger on Tuesday.
On Tuesday night, a much warmer evening with lows in the 30s and 40s. On Wednesday, look for strong winds with gusts from 45 to 50 mph.
Highs on Wednesday will climb into the 60s and 70s. A few showers are possible on Friday, but statewide precip does not look likely.
The upcoming weekend looks wonderful, with above average temperatures and dry conditions.
The next powerful storm arrives on Monday. This system may bring severe storms to the state. Currently, the best chance for heavy rain and storms will be along and east of I-35.
