The OU College of Dentistry had over 160 student volunteers see 165 patients Saturday as part of the annual Kids' Day event.

The University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry and Delta Dental welcomed children ages 4-12 to receive a variety of dental services, including cleaning, fillings and crowns, at no cost.

"Just to see the number of children here getting care that may not otherwise be able is a great opportunity to give back and to provide some services that they may not be able to get otherwise," said David Ciesla with the OU College of Dentistry.

Kids' Day began 24 years ago in an effort to serve the community by reaching children who are unlikely to have access to dental services.

The event, initially targeting the Oklahoma City metro, now has a statewide reach with people coming from as far away as Tulsa and Fort Gibson.
