Recent events have led the Oklahoma City Police Department to enforce a new curfew to prevent unfortunate events happening late at night with unsupervised teenagers.
The push to bumper up the curfew happened after two teenagers were involved in a shooting in Bricktown during December.
Since then, police said they have increased patrols and worked with OG&E to increase lighting in the area but moving the curfew is the next step.
The original curfew was set for 11 p.m. but now people younger than 18 without an adult parent or guardian must leave by 9 p.m.
A few exceptions are made for teens who are going to or from work, an event like a game or movie, or going to or from a school or religious event.
The curfew change is supported by police and the Bricktown Association.
