Oklahoma legislators are discussing a change to the state's gun laws that would redefine what constitutes as self-defense.
There are already multiple protections for gun owners in the state, such as the castle doctrine and so-called "stand your ground" laws, allow Oklahomans to use physical and even deadly force in self-defense.
A proposed bill, House Bill 2049, would expand the definition of a dwelling to anywhere on private property, not just inside the physical home.
"It's a simple bill, on your property if you feel that your life is threatened, you have the right to protect yourself," Rep. David Hardin from Stillwell said.
The proposed expansion comes days after organizers gathered at the state capitol to advocate for stronger gun laws in Oklahoma.

However, other representatives are questioning where to draw the line for what is considered to be the end of someone's property.
"There's one thing to say you're protecting your castle, it's another to say 'now I'm protecting the green grass,'" Rep. Regina Goodwin from Tulsa said.
